Jon Brion Score Extraordinaire

Hey all! Dia here. Last night we spent some time talking about the 15 top film scores of the 21st century! A lot of composers/musicians were on there so I wanted to write briefly about one of my favorites we might not get the chance to highlight! His name is Jon Brion. He is a musician that has done many scores of some of my favorite movies. His scores are ethereal, usually layered with sounds from the films and super unique! He has done the soundtracks for movies like Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind, Punch-Drunk Love and Magnolia. He often works with the director Paul Thomas Anderson. My personal favorite score he has done is for the 2017 Greta Gerwig movie Lady Bird. A great coming of age film set in Sacramento in the early 00’s.
